Full-Time and Permanent; 7.33 Hours/Day; 200 Days/Year; 10 Months/Year
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE).
- Tuberculin skin test certifying the individual is free of contagious tuberculosis.
- Demonstrates knowledge of necessary principles and methodology of effective instruction and behavioral supports that are essential for implementation with students with disabilities.
- Demonstrates understanding of individual differences in ability, personality, and interests.
- Demonstrates understanding of the federal, state, and local laws, regulations and mandates governing the determination and delivery of special education services.
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based personal, students, parents, and community members.
Nature of Position
- Coordinate and conduct IEP meetings.
- Collect and utilize data for instructional planning and progress monitoring.
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized plans for each child.
- Consult and coordinate instruction, interventions, and other services with other personnel who serve the child.
- Participate as a member of a team addressing the education process and progress of students with disabilities.
- Confers frequently with parents regarding their child’s strength and weaknesses in the areas of motor skills, communication, social/emotional development, and cognitive functioning.
- Maintain an organized instructional program that is structured to best meet the needs of the students: Lesson plans prepared in advance, written schedule and operation format that correlates with students’ IEP, consistency in program content and expectations of students and other classroom staff, keep appropriate student records, maintains data and documentation of progress monitoring of students.
- Demonstrate competency in behavioral management and implements appropriate behavioral strategies.
- Abide by all district policies and procedures and demonstrates competencies specified in the district and state policies, rules, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the base salary listed below, this position is eligible for an advanced degree stipend.
Educational Stipend Details (Conditions Apply)
Master's Degree: $3,500/Year
Master's Degree + 30 Hours: $5,400/Year
Doctoral Degree: $7,800/Year
