Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Nursing
• Current Virginia Board of Nursing unrestricted Registered Nurse license
• At least two years of recent satisfactory nursing experience involving direct patient care or teaching experience.
• Tuberculin skin test certifying that the individual is free of contagious tuberculosis.
• Must meet all pre-employment screenings.
• Demonstrates considerable knowledge of nursing in the content areas taught in practical nursing.
• Demonstrates knowledge of advances in nursing practices and nursing education.
• Demonstrates leadership and management skills necessary to work with students, faculty, and clinical setting staff.
• Demonstrates the ability to plan and organize clinical teaching materials.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the content, skills, and processes.
• Demonstrates the ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and content related technology and equipment.

Nature of Position

• Supervises the clinical and practicum activities of Level I and Level II practical nursing students.
• Assists in the development, planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the practical nursing program clinical activities.
• Utilizes effective teaching and supervision skills as it pertains to the clinical, lab and classroom settings.
• Assists in planning and maintaining positive community relationships to grow Central School of Practical Nursing (CSPN) advisory board and partnerships.
• Position is part-time and working hours may vary/change due to clinical experiences.
