Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Nursing
Current Virginia Board of Nursing unrestricted Registered Nurse license
At least two years of recent satisfactory nursing experience involving direct patient care or teaching experience.
Tuberculin skin test certifying that the individual is free of contagious tuberculosis.
Must meet all pre-employment screenings.
Demonstrates considerable knowledge of nursing in the content areas taught in practical nursing.
Demonstrates knowledge of advances in nursing practices and nursing education.
Demonstrates leadership and management skills necessary to work with students, faculty, and clinical setting staff.
Demonstrates the ability to plan and organize clinical teaching materials.
Demonstrates knowledge of the content, skills, and processes.
Demonstrates the ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and content related technology and equipment.
Nature of Position
Supervises the clinical and practicum activities of Level I and Level II practical nursing students.
Assists in the development, planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the practical nursing program clinical activities.
Utilizes effective teaching and supervision skills as it pertains to the clinical, lab and classroom settings.
Assists in planning and maintaining positive community relationships to grow Central School of Practical Nursing (CSPN) advisory board and partnerships.
Position is part-time and working hours may vary/change due to clinical experiences.
