Sorts and distributes incoming U.S. and intra-system mail to appropriate offices and departments notifies employees of special shipments and delivers packages and other items of special importance.
Performs the duties of the Pony Driver position when needed, picking up and delivering mail to schools and offsite locations.
Performs related work as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to use computer, work processing software, and mail machine software.
Thorough knowledge of the general organization and functions of the school system in order to distribute mail accurately.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and to communicate information accurately and effectively to school system employees.
Ability to drive a mail truck to provide coverage for the Pony Driver position.
Physical Effort
Physical effort required to lift and move heavy boxes and pull heavy objects from high shelves. Skill, dexterity, fine motor and visual skills to perform data entry and keyboarding tasks (PC or terminal).
Hazards
Normal potential hazards for minor injury associated with stocking and pulling inventory, sorting mail, and delivering packages.
Unusual Demands
Work is performed in an office environment and is subject to frequent interruptions.
